BCP
TO BROADWAY... AND BACK AGAIN
To help cap
off our spectacular 75th Diamond Jubilee anniversary season, we are
pleased to present a special ONE NIGHT ONLY benefit performance of the
play Love Letters, starring Broadway stars Beth Fowler and
Philip Bosco, under the direction of Broadway director Robert Jess
Roth! This special benefit performance will take place on Sunday,
May 18th at 7:30 PM.
Beth Fowler, a
BCP alumna, is a two-time Tony Award nominee (Sweeney Todd and
The Boy from Oz) and originated the role of Mrs. Potts
in Broadway's Beauty and the Beast. Bergen County resident Philip Bosco is one of Broadway's most distinguished actors, having been
nominated for six Tony Awards, and winning one for 1989's Lend Me a
Tenor. He can currently be seen in FX's hit series, Damages. Director Robert Jess Roth, another BCP alumna, was a Tony nominee for Beauty
and the Beast and directed the world premiere of Lestat, Broadway's
musical based on one of Anne Rice's most celebrated literary characters.

Love Letters is a reading of letters exchanged over a lifetime
between two people who grow up together, go their separate ways, but
continue to share confidences. Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa
Gardner, both born to wealth and position, are childhood friends whose
lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank-you notes and
summer camp postcards. Romantically attached, they continue to exchange
letters throughout their lives. As the actors read the letters aloud,
what is created is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always
poignant portrait of two star-crossed lovers.
Designed as a
special benefit event for BCP to raise funds for capital improvements, these three
Broadway veterans will remain afterwards for a
Q&A with the audience. Included in the ticket price will be a
special wine and cheese reception in our newly refurbished lounge where
audience members can mingle with the artists in person!
The price for this truly unique theatrical evening is $75 per person, in
honor of BCP's 75th Anniversary. All seating is reserved. Tickets go on
sale on to the general public starting on April 14, 2008.
This
spectacular evening is NOT TO BE MISSED, so please alert everyone you
know about it. Seats will go fast, so order early!!!
