CRYING ON THE CAMINO - STREAMING

May 20th - May 20th

8:00PM

BCP FUNDRAISER

The Bergen County Players are thrilled to present a recorded performance of Celeste Mancinelli's one-woman show, Crying On The Camino, on Friday, May 20th at 8pm. This totally sold-out performance from earlier this month is now available for viewing online just once, with all net proceeds going to BCP to assist in our financial recovery from the pandemic

Actress Celeste Mancinelli’s funny and deeply moving one-woman show recounts her 200 mile walk on the Portuguese Route to Santiago de Compostela. Originally collaborating with the late celebrated teacher/director Wynn Handman, Celeste describes this true story as “about minimalism and simplicity, self-reflection and honesty…to inspire others to take their own journey, to fully live their own Caminos.” Her philosophy of “prepare for the worst, hope for the best and take what comes” shines through via “a lucid narrative, abundant humor and deft storytelling amidst a large spectrum of comedy in her physical comportment, and seriously arresting vocal technique that manifests into song at the drop of a walking stick.” (SPLASH Magazine).

Celeste has been performing professionally since the early 1980’s. Her New York City credits include the hit show Nunsense at the Douglas Fairbanks Theater, Cynthia Heimel’s long-running play A Girl’s Guide to Chaos at the American Place Theater (originating the character of Lurene), and Larry Gelbart’s 1-2-3-4-5 at the Manhattan Theater Club. She has also worked in numerous Off-Broadway, cabaret, stock, regional and national touring productions throughout the United States, and is a well-known acting coach in New Jersey and New York. She is also a Speech/Language Pathologist who earned the NJSHA Distinguished Clinical Achievement Award for her development of a unique theatrical program at Spectra Academy in Montclair.

As with our other online special fundraising events this season, this is a 'Pay-What-You-Can' event with a minimum $15 contribution. BCP appreciates your generosity as our effort to reemerge from the pandemic continues.
