Karen has appeared onstage at BCP in assorted lunatic ensemble and lead roles
including: Cockney Landlady, Drunken French Maid, Spanish Nurse, Dog,
and the Tap Dancing Portrait of the Royal Family
of Monaco in Lucky Stiff (2004). She also appeared as The Golden Goose in Jack and
the Beanstalk (2004), Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd (1997),
Mavis in Stepping Out (1994), Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense
(1994), and Chlorus in Olympus on My Mind (1992).
Offstage she
has served as Assistant to the Director for Urinetown (2005),
The Wizard of Oz (2003), Epic Proportions (2002), Gypsy
(1998), Don't Dress for Dinner (1998); Sound for Epic
Proportions (2002); Props for Aladdin (1997) and Other
People's Money (1993).
Most recent
roles outside of BCP include: Boz and the Bard Productions - Lady
Macbeth, Lizzie Borden in the one-woman production of Miss Lizzie A.
Borden Invites You to Tea, Eleanor of Aquitaine in The Lion in
Winter, Sarah in Like Bees to Honey. Favorite Roles
performed in other venues include Georges Sand in the premier original
production of Chopin and Sand at the Barn Theatre, Brigitta and
Rosalina in the premier original production of The Great Hall
with the Attic Ensemble, Aldonza in Man of LaMancha, Peter Pan,
Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense, Marquise de Marteuil in Les
Liaisons Dangereuses, Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun,
"Sonia" in Godspell, Trina in Falsettos, Mollie in The
Mousetrap, Paquette in Candide, Alice Nutting/Edwin in The
Mystery of Edwin Drood.
By day, Karen
is a Drama Teacher for the Jersey City Public Schools' Visual and
Performing Arts High School Magnet Program.
