Steve Bell
Director, The King & I
Musical Director, Seussical the Musical
|
Steve Bell is a BCP Life Member and past president who has been
active with the Players for more than twenty years. He directed BCP's productions of
The King & I, Urinetown The Musical, Deathtrap, Lucky Stiff, Epic
Proportions, The Emperors New Clothes, Gypsy, Don't Dress For
Dinner, Only Kidding, Jerry's Girls, Light Up the Sky, and
Baby.
Steve served as musical director for BCP productions of
Sweeney Todd, The Most Happy Fella, The 1940s Radio Hour, The Super
Fantastic Magical Adventures of Bob, Jerry's Girls, and
Something's Afoot, as well as music coordinator for
Book of
Days.
As a
performer, Steve appeared as Toad in A Year With Frog and
Toad, Moonface Martin in Anything Goes, Stine in City
of Angels, Zoot in The 1940s Radio Hour, Pseudolous in
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Hines in
The Pajama Game, the Baker in Into the Woods,
Frederick/Philip in Noises Off, Vernon in They're Playing
Our Song, the Sergeant of Police in Pirates of Penzance,
Axel in The Nerd, and in the ensembles of Closer Than Ever
and Jacques Brel...
Steve also designed and constructed sets for The Crucible,
Our Town, and Prelude to a Kiss; composed music for
several shows; and designed the sound for more than twenty
productions.
Steve teaches
vocal music at Teaneck High School and is the Artistic Director of
The Teaneck Community Chorus. His daughter, Joanna, is also an active member of BCP.
