Jason Lewis

This seems to be Jason’s season for titled roles, having recently appeared as The Judge in Inherit the Wind at the Chatham Playhouse, King Darling III in the BCP production of Cinderella, and as The Announcer and The Newscaster in the TNT recreation of the classic radio show, Suspense.

A retired psychotherapist, Jason joined BCP in 2001 and has since appeared in a score of local productions including A Mid Summer Night’s Dream, Harvey, and You Can’t Take it With You.

Backstage at BCP has found Jason as a co-chair of the Buddy System Committee, and member of the box office staff. He currently serves on the Marketing Committee. Jason has been a prop master, assistant director and lighting or sound operator in a dozen BCP productions and frequently lends a hand for set construction and décor.

Jason holds a BA in Theater from Ramapo College. Granted in 2007, the degree completed a quest that began 50 years earlier in 1957 when he entered Drama School at Carnegie- Mellon Institute as an Acting Major.

Jason began his work in the entertainment industry as a child actor in the closing years of the golden age of radio. His career included perforating in the theater, radio and TV, film, stand-up, voice-overs, and work as a DJ and talk-show host in both radio and TV.

Included in his checkered past is a decade in the creative management areas of the industry. Jason is married to BCP member, Marjory Lewis, a singer/dancer/actress whose recent BCP appearances includes The Women and Lend Me A Tenor.  Her Broadway credits include Minnie’s Boys and Lovely Ladies, Kind Gentleman.
