BERGEN COUNTY PLAYERS TO PRESENT MARC CAMOLETTI'S
RIOTOUS TONY AWARD-WINNING HIGH FLYING FARCE BOEING BOEING

Sexy, Non-Stop Comedy Lands at Little Firehouse Theatre On May 4th

“It’s deliciously, deliriously innocent. Pure pleasure!” – NY Times

Oradell, NJ, April 16, 2013 -- The Bergen County Players (BCP) of Oradell is thrilled to conclude its 80th mainstage season with a limited engagement of Marc Camoletti’s Tony Award-winning acclaimed non-stop farce Boeing Boeing, directed by Alyson Cohn. Doors will slam and laughs will fly at the Little Firehouse Theatre on Kinderkamack Road in Oradell from May 4th through June 2nd. Shows will be on Friday and Saturday nights at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm, but there will be no performances on Memorial Day weekend. Tickets can be purchased online at www.bcplayers.org, by calling 201-261-4200 or by visiting the box office at 298 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell during regular box office hours.

Written by French playwright Marc Camoletti, and translated by Beverley Cross and Francis Evans, Boeing Boeing premiered in Paris in 1960, where it ran for 19 years. Nominated for six Tony Awards in 2008 and winner of Best Revival of a Play, it was once listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most-performed French play in the world.  The riotous farce was made into a movie starring Tony Curtis and Jerry Lewis in 1965, and has left audiences airborne with laughter ever since.

Set in the swinging ‘60s, Boeing Boeing is the hilarious tale of Bernard (Larry Kadish of New Milford), a high-flying lothario who deftly juggles a trio of flight attendant fiancées, each a beautiful airline hostess with frequent “layovers.” They are the Italian hostess Gabriella (Shiva Kiani of Newark), the German hostess Gretchen (Sky Spiegel of Morristown), and the American hostess Gloria (Allyson Stevenson of Westwood). With a complex system based upon their flight schedules and some assistance from his disapproving housekeeper (Paula O’Brien of Park Ridge), Bernard’s carefully constructed timetable runs like clockwork until a new, faster Boeing jet goes into service. Bernard’s supersonic lifestyle hits turbulence when his friend Robert (Dale Monroe of Morristown) comes to stay and the unexpected schedule changes bring all three women to his apartment at the same time. Bernard’s intricate ruse unravels in one wild, door-slamming night of comic mayhem.

Director Alyson Cohn of Wyckoff says, “Boeing Boeing is pure, high-flying, first-class fun. It is one of the most brilliant and wittiest of all the modern farces and audiences are in for an evening of non-stop laughter.” Alyson is both a seasoned BCP performer and director. Her directing credits at BCP include Glengarry Glen Ross; One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest; Angels in America: Millennium Approaches; Six Degrees of Separation; The Heidi Chronicles; Proposals; True West; Art; and Proof, which won the 2006 Perry Award for Best Production of a Play. She has appeared on the BCP stage in many productions including The Full Monty, A Year With Frog and Toad, Little Shop of Horrors, and Into the Woods, among others.

The production team includes Kathie Robitz, producer; Timothy Meola, set design; Mark Cardone, set construction; Sarah Vela, assistant to the director; Michele Roth, stage manager; Marci Weinstein, set décor; Allan Seward, lighting design; Katie Lupfer, costume design; Marisa Dolkart, assistant costumer; Oren Korenblum, choreographer; Rob DeScherer, sound design; Pat Bain, properties; Christian Spinella, stage crew; Joe Lanteri and Kathleen Ruland, lighting operation; Andrew Van Buskirk, sound operation; Sandy Stead, make-up; Dana Robitz, hair; and Alan Zenreich, photography.
